Sianne Ngai shares work from her current book project, Our Aesthetic Categories: The Zany, the Cute, and the Merely Interesting.
Bio: Sianne Ngai is Associate Professor of English at UCLA and the author of Ugly Feelings (Harvard 2005). Recent publications include “Merely Interesting” and “The Cuteness of the Avant-garde,” both of which were published in Critical Inquiry. Her current book project is Our Aesthetic Categories: The Zany, the Cute, and the Merely Interesting. Ngai will be a Fellow at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Berlin in 2012-13.
