The Power of Narrative in the Liberation of Palestine
Film screening of "Frontiers of Dreams & Fears" & panel discussion on how reclaiming Palestinian agency in stories can shift policy.
Join us for a film screening of "Frontiers of Dreams and Fears", a documentary by Mai Masri about two Palestinian girls growing up in refugee camps in Lebanon and Palestine. Despite the barriers that separate them, the girls form a bond and eventually meet at the border. Shot during the liberation of southern Lebanon and the Palestinian Intifada, the film articulates the feelings, hopes, and growing activism of a generation of young Palestinians living in exile at the time.
The film will be followed by a panel discussion on the role of Palestinian agency in storytelling in shifting public policy.
Panel Speakers:
- Inès Abdel Razek, co-director of the Palestine Institute for Public Diplomacy (PIPD)
- Nour Chamoun, artist & curator
Doors open at 5:30 PM
